Enjoy a revealing look at rural life in Vietnam by visiting a farm, village and pagoda in the lush countryside. Not far outside the city limits, the landscape will change dramatically, as rice paddies and majestic mountains come into view. After pausing at a temple adorned with candles and incense that symbolize the universe, you will stop at a traditional farm. While touring the grounds, you will get a glimpse into daily life, learn about the crops and see how the domesticated animals are raised.
Upon arriving at a nearby village, you will meet a local family and watch them weave floor mats from sedge or perhaps baskets from banana leaves. Then, after a refreshing coconut drink and some juicy tropical fruit, you will meet some of the monks at the village pagoda. They will explain their religious practices and how they worship Buddha. One final stop will be made at a workshop where artisans make rice paper.
